Inserting flute- and grain-direction symbols

The direction of a material's flute or grain is critical for the production process. In the design process you can use special symbols to indicate the direction of the flute, respectively, grain. It is important that a symbol is inserted that is applicable for the material that has been selected.

IMPORTANT: The direction of the grain/flute of the material and that of the design must be identical.

To insert flute- /grain-direction indication

DESIGN TIPS:

• To place the symbol in a nonresizable drawing, select the Flute/Grain button, and use a symbol that needs one control point .
• To indicate the flute or grain in a resizable drawing, select Flute/Grain Symbol by 2 Points . This keeps the symbol's position in the design regardless of the resizing changes.

1. In the active drawing, on the Objects toolbar, click Flute/Grain

A flute-direction indicator appears at the mouse pointer and follows its movement.

2. Position the symbol where you want it to be.

To delete the flute-/grain indication

• In the drawing, select the symbol, right-click, and then click Delete on the context menu.
