Placing multiple parts in a layout

You can add additional layout 1ups to an already created layout. Before you can add additional layout 1ups, you need to have their drawings in the project.

To place multiple parts in a layout drawing

  1. Do any of the following:

  1. Click Create new layout, then click Create blank.

  1. Do any of the following:
  1. In the Margins area, enter sheet margins.
  2. (Optional) In the Dimensions area, select the Lock sheet check box to prevent the sheet's automatic centering around layout 1ups.

NOTE: If you leave the sheet unlocked, each time you insert a layout 1up into it, the sheet will become centered around the available layout 1ups.

  1. Do any of the following:

The Place Multiple Parts dialog box appears.

  1. In Name, select the drawings which you want to insert in the layout drawing. In the Count column, enter a numeral for the number of parts of each drawing you want inserted.

TIP: You can select all the parts that share a material: Right-click the part whose material you are interested in, and then, click Select all with the same material. (See the picture in Step 7.)

NOTE: In each instance of inserting multiple parts, the selected parts are inserted in a single row, first starting from the origin of the coordinate system. Each time you repeat Step 8, EngView will place the parts in a row above the last one.
