This topic takes you through the two cases for how style symbols change when you zoom into the drawing or out of it, as well as how you want symbols sizes to behave when you print a drawings.
While zooming into or out of the drawing, you can have two scenarios:
If a style symbol is drawn 60x60 pixels (5.08 mm) and the scale factor is 1, the style symbol will appear as 60x60 pixels (5.08 mm) on the screen. If zoom is applied to the drawing, the style symbols size do not change.
If the drawing needs to be printed with the Fit to Page option and needs to be scaled to fit into the set page format, then the scaling will not apply to the style symbols, and the symbol size will not change — that is, it will remain 60x60 pixels (5.08 mm).
NOTE: On the screen, the symbols expand and diminish in relation to the applied zoom. If the zoom reaches a point when its size is close to the size of the object on which it is placed, the symbol disappears.
top of pageWhen we say that style symbols repond to zooming, this means that the symbols appear in a size that shows the proportion between the symbol's actual size and drawing's (cut box's) overall diemnsions. That is, when you zoom, EngView will keep the ratio between the symbol's size and the cut box's size.
For example, if the size on the screen corresponds to the A4 Landscape and the drawing has the Zoom to Fit option. If the cut box is 531x559 и 531x339, symbols appear as follows:
NOTE: If the zoom reaches a point when its size is close to the size of the object on which it is placed, the symbol disappears.
