Inserting quick features into a layout
In a dieboard, you can insert additional, semi-parameterized features.
NOTE: Such features are EVC files and they can be created with EngView Synergy. To be accessible, they must be stored in the ...\\EngView7\Settings\Features\QuickFeatures directory.
To insert a quick feature
- Open a resizable design.
- Do any of the following:
- On the Layout toolbar, click Dieboard .
- On the Layout menu, click Dieboard.
- Press CTRL+D+B.
- In a layout drawing, on the Layout toolbar, click Quick Features .
A contextual edit bar appears above the graphical area.
NOTE: The following image is an example: the #-marked boxes indicate the available parameters, and will differ in each particular drawing.
- In Components, select the component that you want to insert.
- Drag the component to where you want it to be, and then click to position its first control point.
- Drag the component's second control point to where you want it to be, and then click.
- (Optional) To insert the component more times, repeat Steps 3–6 as many times as necessary.
- To complete the insertion, right-click, and then click Cancel Mode on the context menu.
Notes
- To move a component, select it, and then drag it to where you want it to be.
- To change a component's properties, select the component, right-click and then click Component Parameters on the context menu. In the Component Parameters dialog box that appears, edit the properties you need.
- To convert a component to its constructional objects, select it, right-click, and then click Convert to objects on the context menu. To convert multiple components to their constructional objects, press CTRL, use the mouse to select all of them, right-click, and then click Convert All Components to Objects.
