Collinear relation

A collinear relation can exist between two lines, axes or chamfers; and between a line, axis or chamfer and a coordinate axis. The relation is detected only implicitly.

To detect a collinear relation

  1. Place the first control point of a line or axis so that it lies either on the already drawn line, axis or chamfer that you want it to be collinear with, or on its extension.
  2. Point to position the preview to be collinear to another other line, axis or chamfer.

When the collinear relation indicator appears, a collinear relation has been detected.

note: A collinear relation can be detected if the Collinear check box in the Relations tab is selected.

Example

In the first example, the end point of a line is drawn to be collinear to another line.

Drawing the line...

... the two lines are collinear.

Moving one line moves the other, keeping it collinear.
