Pass-through-a-point snapping

With pass-through-a-point snapping you can set an on-relation between the object you are currently drawing and an existing control point, or an on-relation on the extension between the control point and the extension of the object. After you click the control point, the current object is snapped to the control point so that the control point lies either on the object or on its extension.

Possible object modes where Pass Through a Point snapping can be used:

Line segments, axes, arcs and circles.

Possible reference objects:

Any control point — a discrete point, a control point of an existing object or the origin of the coordinate system.

To use pass-through-a-point snapping

  1. Turn on an object-drawing mode, and begin drawing the object by placing its first control point.
  2. Do one of the following:
  1. Point to control point which will be your reference object to highlight it.

The object you are drawing is snapped to the reference control point so that it lies on the object or on its extension.

  1. Click to confirm the snapping —  the object preview will stay permanently snapped until you finish the definition of the object.
