Viewing dimensions

You can choose whether or not to see the dimensions in your drawings. Some structures involve a good many dimensions, which can cause visual clutter on the screen and distract you from the other work you do. This section guides you through how to hide and display dimensions.

There are two types of dimensions:

• Viewable dimensions. These are the dimensions that are essential for your work in structure design and modification. These dimensions appear when you right-click in the graphical area, and then check Show Dimensions. To see viewable dimensions in components, additionally right-click the component, point to View, and then check Dimensions.
• Non-viewable (hidden) dimensions. These dimensions do not appear when you right-click in the graphical area and check Show Dimensions. To see hidden dimensions, right-click and check Show Dimensions, and then right-click, point to View, and then check Hidden Objects. To see hidden dimensions in components, additionally right-click the component, point to View, and then check Dimensions and Hidden Objects on the context menu.
