When during drawing or repositioning an ellipse when you enter a value in one of the edit boxes (Primary or Secondary radii or Angle while drawing, or Dx or Dy while repositioning) in the contextual edit bar, and then you move to the next edit box — for example, by pressing TAB or ENTER — EngView limits the scope of the preview according to the specified value. Consider the following example:
If you place the first point (center) of an ellipse defined by center and radii, in Primary enter a value of 20 mm for the primary radius and then press TAB to move to the Angle edit box, when you point to define the location of the end point of the primary radius, a preview of the ellipse appears with the defined 20 degree radius. To drag the preview freely again, in the respective edit box (Primary or Secondary radius, or Dx/Dy, but not Angle) enter 0.00. Then press TAB to move to the next edit box.
The zero-value rule applies to distance values only. You can use it to define relative Dx and Dy values in all contextual edit bars.
