Inserting print parts by placing a part
- To begin creating a new print drawing, do any of the following:
- On the , click New Print Drawing .
- On the Tools menu, point to Print, and then click New Print Drawing.
- Press CTRL+I+N.
- In the Print Frame Placement dialog box that appears, click Cancel to create a blank print drawing.
- Do any of the following:
- On the , click Place Part .
- On the Tools menu, point to Print, and then click Insert Part.
- Press CTRL+I+P+P.
A dynamic preview of the part that follows the pointer appears. A contextual edit bar appears above the print drawing for editing the basic part attributes:
- In the Part list, select the part that you want to insert.
- (Optional) To use a mirror transformation to the part, click Mirror part .
- (Optional) To set a rotation angle, in Angle enter a value. For help about how to use the Select Quadrant button, see Automatic computation of angles.
- (Optional) To scale the part in Scale X enter a value. To decrease the size of the print part, enter a value between 0.01 and 1.00; to increase it, enter a value greater than 1.00.
- (Optional) Snap the control point of the part to another object or point.
NOTE: During the insertion of print parts, you can use only point-focused snapping.
- In the graphical area, click where you want the part to be.
- (Optional) To insert more parts, repeat Steps 4–9.
- To cancel the insertion of parts, press ESC.
