Parallel relation

A parallel relation can exist between two lines, axes or chamfers, including the coordinate axes.

To detect a parallel relation implicitly

  1. Place the first control point of a line or axis.
  2. Point to position the line or axis preview to be parallel to another line, axis or chamfer until the Parallel relation indicator appears.

NOTE: Parallel relations can be detected implicitly only if the Parallel check box in the Tools | Options | Relations tab is selected.

To detect a parallel relation explicitly

Example

In the first example, the end point of a line is drawn (1) to make the line parallel to another line (2).

1.

Drawing the end point of the line so that the line is parallel to the existing one. Two parallel lines.

2.

Modifying any of the lines keeps the Parallel relationship between them.
