EngView North America Welcomes Kris Hanchette as New President
EngView is pleased to announce the appointment of Kris Hanchette as the new President of EngView North America. With his proven track record of leadership, knowledge and expertise in the industry, Kris is poised to drive EngView North America towards new heights of growth and innovation. He has been with the company for over 2 years.
Prior to joining EngView North America, Kris held several key executive positions in leading technology companies, where he demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry landscape and a talent for developing strategies that deliver results. Kris is committed to building a culture based on trust, innovation, hard work and the desire to continuously improve every aspect of the business.
EngView North America welcomes Kris Hanchette with excitement and eagerly anticipates the positive impact his leadership will have on the company and its stakeholders. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Kris and discuss his vision.
First of all, congratulations on your new role, Kris! How does it feel to be President of EngView North America?
I’m honored to lead North America for a company that continually sets the industry standards. After spending the last couple of years learning the product and building relationships, I now see the potential and I am excited for this next chapter to further drive innovation and success for our team and our clients.
What inspired you to take on such a leadership role?
I have a history of building teams where members can reach aggressive goals through collaboration, accountability, open communication, and mutual trust. As our team and network expands, I saw this leadership role as the ideal way to serve our clients across Canada, the USA, and Mexico using the many of the skills I have developed over the years.
If you had to describe your leadership style using a movie or TV character, who would it be and why?
Tony Stark (Iron Man) Dreams big, loves solving problems with technology, builds excellent friendships, but pushes everyone outside of the comfort zone to accomplish goals, and has a great sense of humor. Unlike Tony, I do not want to build war machines or chase women.
What’s a personal achievement or milestone outside of work that you’re especially proud of?
I have been married only once to my wonderful wife Barbara who loves and supports me. Together we have 2 adult children. A second important achievement is that I am willing to stand by my ethics even if it means losing friends, family or even my job.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy in your free time?
I enjoy staying active, going on runs, mountain biking, snowboarding, gardening and spending time with family. In this new chapter of my life I love volunteering and being able to participate in my church community, especially with a group called Alpha, where we have a lot of thought-provoking discussions.
How do you balance your professional and personal life?
This can be a struggle and I find myself working more than I should because I do not want to disappoint my team or our customers. Luckily the team at EngView values work-life balance and encourages me to focus on my family, health, and personal growth. One huge advantage of this job is that I can travel and work from anywhere that has good internet.
What do you believe makes EngView stand out from competitors in the CAD/CAM industry?
EngView has an excellent value equation. We supply advanced tools at a cost effective price. Designing with parametric components, our Adobe Illustrator plug-in, working on the Mac, sharing your projects in the cloud, augmented reality, an incredible API that allows integration to ERP’s, CRM’s, web interfaces, spreadsheets, the list goes on. I hear all of the time when customers move to EngView they are just surprised at how much better it is to work with us vs the competition.
What is the most common thing you heard from speaking with our customers?
They wished they would have purchased or switched to EngView sooner. That they are not a number when they ask for help, they know we care and they love being able to talk to real people who work hard to insure their success. We build genuine relationships with our clients, working as partners and problem-solvers. We pride ourselves on open communication and a willingness to learn together; if we don’t have an immediate answer, we’re honest and committed to finding one collaboratively.
How do you see EngView expanding in the next five years?
We will continue to surround ourselves with great people both internally and externally. Having the right partnerships is key to our success. Externally these are companies who value long term mutually beneficial relationships that are built on hardwork and trust. The EngView software has an excellent core foundation that will allow us to continue to grow. We have brilliant programmers who are solving tomorrow's problems today. As an example we were working with Artificial Intelligence before most people were talking about AI. Customers will also demand that all their systems work seamlessly and we will be ready for this challenge.
How important do you think packaging affects the sales of a product?
While it’s true that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, first impressions do matter. Effective packaging creates a "wow factor" that captures attention and drives consumer interest. EngView's software helps bring that mental vision to life. From 2D to 3D models, and eventually into a product that resonates with customers.
