Drawing circles

You can construct a circle by:

• Center
• Three points
• Diameter

You can construct:

• Tangent circles
• Circles which are tangent to two other objects

Notes

• To set the circle diameter while drawing, in Diameter, in the contextual edit bar, enter a value. Later, you can modify this value.
• During drawing or repositioning a circle, when you enter a value in one of the edit boxes (Diameter while drawing, or Dx or Dy while repositioning) in the contextual edit bar, and then move to the next edit box, for example, by pressing TAB or ENTER, EngView limits the scope of the circle preview according to the specified value. Consider the following example:

If you place the center point of a circle defined by center, enter a value of 20 mm in Diameter and then press TAB to confirm the value, when you point to define the location of the second control point of the circle, you can move the control point only around the preview of a circle with a 20 mm diameter. To drag the object preview freely, go back to the respective edit box (Dx or Dy) and enter 0.00. Then press TAB to move to the alternative edit box.

NOTE: The zero-value rule is valid only for distance values and not for angles, circle diameters, arc radii and radii of auxiliary circles inscribing or circumscribing regular polygons.
