Loading templates for exporting

Here is how to load a special template for exporting drawings to other file formats. Learn how to create templates.

To load a template for exporting

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. In the Export Templates area, click the browse button , browse to where the new template is and then load it.
3. (Optional) If you have made changes to the active drawing that differ from those in the applied template and want to see them in the printout, in the Export Template area, set exceptions to the template settings.

   Export Template Applies a template (an .evt file) only for a particular export in order to apply specific object style properties (color, line width, line stipple) without modifying the actual styles in the 1up or print drawing that will be exported.

   To load a ready template, click the browse button , and in the dialog box that opens, select a template and load it. Learn how to create a printing template.

   Apply only to print drawings If the check box is selected, EngView applies the template only to the export of print drawings. If the check box is empty, the template will be applied also to 1up and layout drawings.

   Override line widths Ignores the line widths of the objects in the drawing and uses the ones in the template.

   NOTE: Line widths are the object widths you see on the screen; these are not the widths that machines produce on the media.

   Override project colors Ignores the colors of the objects in the drawing — that is, the colors set to the object styles — and uses the colors set in the template.

   Override project stipples Ignores the line patterns of the objects in the drawing, and uses in printing the line patterns of styles set in the selected print template.

   Override project style symbols Ignores the symbols attached to styles in a project and uses the ones set in the template.

   NOTE: If the print template contains no symbols, also the exported file will not contain any symbols regardless of whether the Export style symbols check box is selected.

   Override object-specific properties Ignores the individual properties of the objects in the drawing — for example, color, line width, point size, Open GL settings — and uses the object properties set in the template.
